Rotary Club of Lakewood Ranch:

The Rotary Club of Lakewood Ranch was established in April 2001 and currently has 70 members from many areas of the business and professional community. The Rotary International motto, "Service Above Self", is the driving force behind the annual Suncoast Winefestival. Each of us volunteers our time to make this event a huge success for our attendees, sponsors, restaurants, and wine distributors. But most of all, our objective is to raise money for charity. In the first seven years of this annual event, the Suncoast Winefestival netted in excess of $600,000, all of which has been donated to charities. Each year more than 85% of the net proceeds are donated to area charities in Manatee and Sarasota Counties . The balance is donated to International Rotary projects including Polio Plus (dedicating to eradicating polio from the world), Clean Water well projects, and ShelterBox ( www.shelterboxusa.org ).

The Event:

The Annual Suncoast Winefestival has become east-county's premier event attracting more than 2200 area residents to the stunning Sarasota Polo Club grounds to enjoy more than 300 international and American wines and food tastings from more than 30 area restaurants. This fun-filled day includes continuous live entertainment, cooking demonstrations by local celebrity chefs, a fantastic silent auction, great give-a-ways, and an opportunity to mingle with wine-lovers and friends.

The Suncoast Winefestival is the primary fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Lakewood Ranch. All net proceeds go to charities selected through a grant process of review. Area non-profit, 501 (c) (3) organizations are encouraged to download an application from our website.
