The commissioning of Art Posters, exclusively for the Suncoast Winefestival, has taken on special significance from the beginning. Each of these original works of art has been produced in limited edition quantities of 300, numbered and artist signed. They each represent a dynamic visual representation of this premier mid-county event. Each will be available for sale at the Rotary Club tent during the 7 th Annual Suncoast Winefestival. Be sure to purchase one for your personal art or poster collection. Posters are available for $20 for one, $30 for two, and all three for $40 total, unframed.
The 2008 Art Poster of the Suncoast Winefestival was designed and painted by Sarah Watts, a May 2008 graduate of the Ringling College of Art and Design.
Sarah's achievements
at
Ringling include the Trustee Scholar Award from the Illustration Department and two pieces accepted for the Best of Ringling show. Sarah stated "I was inspired by the many flavors and subtleties in wine, which is where I came up with the idea of flavors 'bursting from the glass'.
The 2007 Art Poster
of the Suncoast Winefestival was designed and painted by McLean Kendree, a senior Illustration Major at Ringling College of Art and Design. McLean’s honors include two paintings accepted into the Best of Ringling Annual show, and the "Media Award" presented by popular illustrator Jon Foster. McLean has stated that his elegant “Art Nuevo” interpretation “gave me a lot of freedom to use pattern and intricate detail. I definitely wanted the image to read as being classy and ornate, and I feel like I achieved that."
The 2006 Art Poster, the inaugural commission in the poster series, was designed and painted by Steve Dryden of The London Framer of Lakewood Ranch. Steve’s extensive career in graphic design provided the background for this exciting interpretation of the Suncoast Winefestival. This inventive and colorful poster was recognized by the Suncoast Advertising Federation, the fourth district of the American Advertising Federation, with the Gold ADDY Award for “Public Service Poster”, an AMY Award “given to the highest scoring entries within each of the major divisions of categories” as well as one of only five Judges’ Choice Awards in 2007
